West Akim Cooperative Cocoa Farmers (Cocoa Life) in the Eastern Region have overwhelmly endorsed Mr. Beneth Kwasi Adu who is a retired Military Officer as new President from 2023 to 2027.
Mr. Beneth Kwasi Adu who was the Cooperative Union’s Secretary takes over from Mr. Sampson Adu Essel who is expected to handover in October after serving for four years.
At the end polls which brought together about 130 leaders from 40 Community within the Coorperative Union boundary, Mr. Beneth Kwasi Adu polled 83 votes to defeat Mr. Francis Ohene Boafo, a former President and he also had 37 votes.
General Secretary position went to Mr.Charles Kofi Dugan who polled 63 votes against 56 for Mr.Robert Gyegri whiles Assistant Secretary position went to John Ackon who went to the race unopposed and had 102 YES votes and 18 NO votes.
Other people who were giving the nod are Mr. S.O Korang- Vice President, Steve Essel for Treasurer, Anita Boateng as Women Representative and Felicia Doe as Assistant Treasurer.
