Former constituency women’s organizer for NPP in New Juaben South ,Yaa Ansaa Safori has officially lodged an appeal with the National Parliamentary Appeals Committee of the party.
This follows the decision of the Regional Vetting Committee to disqualify her from contesting in the upcoming Parliamentary Primaries for the New Juaben South Constituency.
In a statement addressed to her supporters, Yaa Ansaa Safori called for calm and expressed optimism about a favorable decision from the appeals process.
She conveyed her belief in the fairness of the system, anticipating that it will deliver a just verdict.
Safori, known for her commitment to being a law-abiding citizen, declared that she has never and will never engage in any form of crime as alleged by the Regional vetting committee that she falsified a signature of one of the polling station executives who endorsed her nomination form.
She extended gratitude to her supporters for their prayers and backing throughout this challenging period.
The appeal sets the stage for a crucial phase in the political journey of Yaa Ansaa Safori, who aims to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament Michael Okyere Baafi to secure the NPP candidacy for the New Juaben South Constituency in 2024 parliamentary election ,and contribute to the party’s representation with a second female representative from the constituency in Ghana’s Parliament.
Now, all awaits outcome of the appeal which will shape the landscape of the forthcoming parliamentary primaries.
