The Youth Action Creation Organization International (YACO), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has officially signed four promising young table tennis players from the New Juaben Tennis Club in the Eastern Region.
This initiative is part of YACO’s ongoing efforts to support and elevate young athletes to international levels, giving them the platform to compete in global tournaments and grow in their sporting careers.
At the signing ceremony, YACO CEO Stephen Agbo emphasized the organization’s commitment to nurturing young talent across Ghana. He highlighted YACO’s broader mission to support individuals and communities as part of its social responsibility efforts.
“Table tennis needs to be made more attractive to the younger generation,” Mr. Agbo stated. “It is not just a sport, but a tool for national development. We must shift some focus from football and invest in disciplines like table tennis that hold great potential.”
He added that YACO seeks to create environments that inspire, protect, and empower individuals, especially the youth, for a brighter future.
Felix Sower, Chairman of the New Juaben Tennis Club, speaking to Nhyiraba Solomon Nartey after the signing ceremony, expressed strong optimism about the new partnership. He described it as a significant step in helping the players achieve their full potential.
“This partnership is a seed planted in fertile ground. In time, it will grow into a tree of success—one that will shelter and inspire future generations,” he said.
Mr. Sower also stressed that sports go beyond trophies and medals. “Sports build character, shape destinies, and leave behind legacies,” he noted. He called for increased collaboration and a steadfast commitment from all stakeholders to support young athletes.
He further encouraged parents to actively support their children’s development not only in sports but in all aspects of life, including academics, spirituality, discipline, and humility.
“This is more than just a signing ceremony—it’s a pledge to protect the dreams of our children and use sports as a powerful tool to shape lives,” he stated.
Mr. Sower urged the newly signed athletes to stay dedicated, work hard, remain humble, and carry themselves with pride.
The four players signed under YACO’s initiative are:
