A young man believed to be in his early thirties identified as Yaw Christopher popular called Chris has allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Dabiasem, a suburb of New Juaben North municipality of Eastern region.
The heart-wrenching incident occurred on November 8, 2023, and was the result of a devastating act of suicide by hanging.
On that fateful day, at approximately 11:30 AM, residents of Dabiasem were jolted by the grim discovery of Yaw Christopher’s lifeless body in his own residence, where he had taken his own life by hanging.
The alarm was raised, and the concerned community members promptly notified the authorities, including the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Ghana Police Service.
In response to the distress call, swift action was taken by dedicated personnel from Ghana Police,and NADMO led by Municipal Director Kankam Twumasi Daniel.
Their primary objective was to assess the situation and take the necessary steps in light of this tragic event.
Further inquiries revealed that Yaw Christopher had been present in his room throughout the previous afternoon.
Yaw Christopher’s lifeless body was handled with utmost care by the responding officials and transported to St. Joseph’s Mortuary in Effiduase for subsequent examination and post-mortem procedures.
The circumstances surrounding this untimely loss are currently under investigation by Effiduase District Police Command
The passing of Yaw Christopher has left a deep void in the community of Dabiasem.
