A twenty two year old unemployed man from Amanfrom – Asamankese, Ismeal Ofosu has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment in hard labour for stealing by the Asamankese Circuit Court Presided Over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams.
The charge is contrary to Section 124(1) of Act 29/60 and the accused was convicted on his own plea after trial.
Prosecution Officer, Inspector Samuel Owusu told the court that Complainant is Kelvin Boateng, a student residing at Amanfrom-
Asamankese while the ccused Ismael Ofosu is also unemployed man residing at Amanfrom.
He said On 18/06/2024 at about 4:30am complainant woke up from bed and detected that his Mac book Air Laptop computer value Gh¢9.,000.00 and IPhone SR value Gh¢3,800.00 have been stolen from the room and reported the matter to the Police for investigation.
On 19/06/2024 intelligence by the Police led to the arrest of the accused and the exhibits were retrieved from him.
Accused admitted the offence in his caution statement for Police and after investigations accused was charged with the offence to appear before the court for Prosecution.
