The Abuakwa North Municipal Director of Education, Grace Adza-Awude , has expressed optimism about improved performance in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
A total of 1,508 candidates from both public and private schools in the municipality are expected to sit for the examination, which begins today, Monday, July 8.
The municipality aims to improve upon the previous 76% overall pass mark. Agyawude noted that candidates took four mock examinations as part of their preparation, enhancing their readiness for the BECE.
In 2022, Abuakwa North Municipality recorded its first set of single-digit aggregates by public schools in the BECE since its creation in 2018.
Speaking to the media, Abuakwa North Municipal Chief Executive Alhaji Umar Bodinga mentioned that the assembly, with support from the Member of Parliament and the parliamentary candidate of the NPP, took a keen interest in the candidates’ preparation.
