The Chairman for the Catholic Youth Organisation (C.Y.O) in the Koforidua Diocese, Senior Crusader Emmanuel Kofi Atigla has said the organization is the best in terms of giving foundation and training to the Youth.
According to him,the C.Y.O is devoted to facilitate and conduct training courses in the field of Youth Service, to seek and administer funds for Youth Service, to co-operate with the Church, the Government and other agencies concerned with Youth Service to foster and co-ordinate activities of Church societies dealing with Youth.
Speaking at the climax of year long 75th Anniversary celebration of Adoagyiri C.Y.O Senior Crusader Emmanuel Kofi Atigla added that it is the objective of the organisation to inspire, direct and guide the natural creative qualities and desire of young people by promoting recreational, educational, cultural and religious programme that will adequately meet their physical, mental and spiritual needs.
The Chairman said through the C.Y.O, many people from Adoagyiri Parish and other part of Ghana have become Priests, Entrepreneurs and other professionals working in both public and private sector.
Senior Atigla said many Crusaders have found their talents and spiritual gift through the C.Y.O and called on the Youth in the Church who yet to join to be fast to get the needed support.
As part of activities to mark Adoagyiri C.Y.O at 75, members of the organisations donated to Nsawam Prison,organized hiking,clean up exercise, Visitation and revival at other Units under the Parish and many others.
During the climax on Sunday,26th May 2024, New Member were initiated into the Ghana C.Y.O and Senior crusader badges for officers who have served but could not get the opportunity to reach diocesan level for automatic title ship were promoted and awarded to acknowledge their services.
The awardees are: Senior Crusader Daniel Tutu Asare, Joshua Adu, Comfort Adu Serberh Mensah ,Mercy Kusi, Evelyn Domozoro, Peter Boateng and Victoria Owusu.
Homilist, Reverend Father Pious Asare, visiting Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi, Awoshie Anyaa commanded Past and present leaders as well as members of the Organisation for their contributions.
He stressed on the need for Christians to work hard for the Progress their work and the Country, adding, everyone must play role in whatever responsibility given.
