The Asamankese Circuit Court Presided Over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has sentenced Isaac Opare, 34 years to two years imprisonment in hard labour for Stealing, contrary to section 124(1) of the criminal offenses Act 1960.
Isaac Opare pleaded guilty when he was charged for stealing one 43 inches LG Television valued at ¢4,800 and one doormat and sold it to one Prince Oteng Darko.
Prosecution Officer, Inspector Samuel Owusu told the court that the complainant in this case is businessman based in Accra and Uk.
He said the Complainant has a mansion at Abesim – Asamankese and Isaac Opare is a caretaker of the said mansion and has access to every apartment in the mansion.
On 26/02/2024,
complainant arrived home and when he opened his store room in the house, he detected
that the LG Television and doormat were missing and highly suspected Opare.
Complainant reported the matter to Police and Opare was arrested.
In his caution statement,
he admitted having stolen the items from the complainant’s storeroom and sold same to Prince Oteng Darko.
Police went to the house of Oteng and retrieved one 43″ of LG snart television and one doormat.
Oteng Darko was also arrested and cautioned to that effect. After investigations, both admitted the offence and charged to appear before court.
