Two orphans at Hour of Grace Orphanage home in Huhunya in Yilo Krobo Municipality in Eastern region have graduated from Nursing training colleges as Nurses.
One of the orphans is also at level 300 in KNUST whilst fourteen (14) are in senior High and technical schools ,others enrolled in apprenticeship ,and the younger ones in private basic school established in the orphanage home.
This success story of the orphanage home was revealed by Director of the home Lawrence Gbengor in an interview with Bryt FM.
According to him, the facility believes education is a major weapon to change the lives of the orphan children therefore will continue to invest in the children.
Meanwhile,management of the facility is appealing for more support for its farming intervention to feed the children as donations drops due to the current economic hardship.
He said the facility needs farm inputs and agro-machineries to expand farming activities to feed the orphans.
Currently, the facility has 3 acre maize farm.
It is also rearing domestic animals such as pigs,poultry birds to argument donations by philanthropists and organizations that come to their aide.
The Director of Hour of Grace Orphanage Home said this when Hands of Hope Foundation founded by Faustina Takyi Mensah, a Member of PIWC-KOFORIDUA feted the children in the orphanage home.
Faustina Takyi added her voice for more donations to support children in the foster home for their academic progression.
Faustina and her NGO, Hands of Hope Foundation have been donating to the orphanage home for the past four years.
