Nine(9) unidentified bodies were given a mass burial earlier today at Tafo Cemetery.
The bodies, collected from Osiem Hawa Memorial Hospital mortuary and Akyem Tafo Government Hospital mortuary, included accident victims, individuals who died in the hospitals, and others found dead on streets without identification.
Some of the bodies have been at the mortuaries for about 4 years.
Chief Inspector Barnabas Mends who supervised the the exercise along with officials from the environmental health department and hospital authorities said, of the bodies, three were from Hawa Memorial Hospital and six from Akyem Tafo Government Hospital.
He said all legal, health and safety protocols were followed before the burial.
He urged families with missing relatives to always make official report to police to enable police conduct investigation to find their bodies if they are dead for collection and burial.
The last mass burial took place in August 2019.
