The Virtuous Ladies of PIWC-Koforidua on January 7,2023 donated to Casa Italia, a not-for-profit organisation located at Akuapem Kwamoso,in the Eastern region.
Established in 2010 by Italian Physiotherapist Simona Branca with a small group of committed sponsors and volunteers, work with the Social Welfare Department and local community to support children who are at risk of the greatest harms of inequality and discrimination.
The home provides healthcare, safety, education and lots of love to children with disability, children who are victims domestic abuse, neglect , extreme poverty, and orphans in Ghana.
Like many other foster homes, the current economic hardship has not spared casa Italia which currently has close to 30 children including those with special needs.
Therefore ,as part of the annual donations to the less privileged in society , Virtuous Ladies donated 50kg bag of rice ,a gallon of vegetable oil, a box of tomato paste, 1 big canned tomato paste, 9 pack toilet roll ,5 packs of water ,2 boxes of indomie noodles ,a carton of milk ,a box of hot chocolate drink, 11 packs of soft drinks ,half bag of beans ,half bag of maize,half bag of Sugar half bag of Sugar, 2 boxes of biscuits ,7 bails of clothes and a pack of chocolate toffee to Casa Italia.
Presenting the items, Mrs Charity Effah Odoom said the donation is demonstration of God’s Love to the less privilege as admonished in James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”.
Management of the facility led by Felicia Boatemaa commended virtuous Ladies and The Church of Pentecost for always supporting the marginalized and underprivileged in society.
She made special appeal to the Akuapem North Municipality and the Member of Parliament Hon.Ama Dokua rehabilitate about 4Km road from Kwamoso community to the facility which continue to deteriorate.
“Our road is Soo bad that it discourages people from visiting us.Many people park their car ,walk and carry their gifts sometimes we the workers and the children go in to carry them from the roadside. When it rains, no car can come here.The road floods aside the mud deplorable portions so we are appealing to the MP and the Assembly to help us ” Felicia Boatemaa appealed.
Kwamoso District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost Overseer Bismark Owusu Appiah prayed for the children and management of the facility.
Virtuous Ladies is the youth wing of the Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost which comprises all female members from ages 13 to 35 years
