Deputy CEO of Middle Belt Development Authority Mrs. Joyce Opoku Boateng has commended women for their roles in ensuring peace and security over the past years.
According to her, women have a great role in ensuring Ghana conduct free and fair elections in the upcoming December elections.
Speaking on behalf of the Chief of Staff, Frema Opare during United Nations International Women’s Day for Peace, the CEO however, was surprised that efforts of women in nation building have been overlooked and therefore called for inclusion of women in national issues.
Meanwhile, the MCE for Suhum municipality Margaret Darko encouraged young adults and other women at all levels to push themselves and take up leadership roles.
She used her life journey as a tool for other women to emulate in order to have their voices heard on national issues.
Dr. Mark Owusu Boadu, Chairman of the Eastern Regional Peace Council also advised Ghanaians on this year’s political campaign and elections not to allow bad politician to lure them to serve their interest but should be guided by the peace Ghana has enjoyed for quite some time now.
He also advised politicians to be modest in their choice of words on their various campaigns when they see huge crowds because “we have one Ghana so the peace must be protected”.
