The Nkosuhene of Kwahyia in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region Nana Boakye Yiadom II has provided essential equipments to Kwahyia CHPS compound in commemoration of his five years anniversary since his installation as Kwahyia Nkosuohene.
The items donated to the CHPS compound were hospital bed, 32 inch LED television as well as the installation of a hospital sign post bearing the name of Kwahyia CHPS compound.
Aside the items donated to the CHPS compound, Nana Boakye Yiadom also handed over 25 pieces of plastic chairs to the Kwahyia Chief Palace in fulfilment of his promise to refurbish the palace.
The Kwahyia CHPS compound has existed without bed , pulse oximeter, BP apparatus and sign post which the facility managers say is their major challenge affecting health care delivery in the area.
The midwife also the facility head of Kwahyia CHPS Irene Ntiamoah revealed the donated items by Nana Boakye Yiadom II particularly the bed “will now enable the facility to detain patients on the bed instead of the recovery room”.
“The sign post will also help the location and easy access of the facility because the CHPS compound when it was without a sign post was making it difficult for people recognize the location of the facility” she added.
Nana Boakye Yiadom II on his part reiterated his commitment to use his portfolio as Nkosuhene of Kwahyia Community to support the health and educational needs of the community and beyond.
He stressed on the need to collaborate with government in improving our education and health care facilities.
Baafour Asare Ayisi , the Chief of Kwahyia also commended Nana Boakye Yiadom II for his unwavering support to the community.
He however expressed deep concern about the deplorable nature of their roads saying it is difficult to transport their farm produce to the Suhum market.
