Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana and Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana, Most Rev. Dr Paul Kwabena Boafo has expressed his gratitude on how the government is gradually easing COVID-19 restrictions in the country.
During an interview with the GNA, Most Rev. Boafo said the leaders of the Church must show good faith by strictly observing all safety protocols laid by the government in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among members.
Most Rev. Boafo educated the Church that the protocols provided an important means to curb community spread, hence the importance of collaborating with health authorities and the State through self-regulation and monitoring.
He congratulated His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo for engaging the Church to help fight COVID-19 and to comply with the safety protocols.
Most Rev. Boafo said he is grateful to the president for listening and engaging them in coming out with this decision.
He also thanked the president for the donation of PPEs through the Ministry of Local Government such as veronica buckets, tissue paper, soaps and detergents to serve societies in the rural areas across the country.
Most Rev. Boafo advised Ghanaians to continue to have faith in God to see them through the pandemic.
Most Rev. Boafo added that the Church would continue to pray for all the frontline health workers in order to fight against the pandemic disease.
Most Rev. Boafo also thanked the media for educating the general public on the pandemic and the need to observe the safety protocols laid by the government.
