The Ghana Police Service has announced that this year’s Easter celebrations across the country, particularly in Kwahu in Eastern Region were peaceful and incident-free, with no major security violations or road traffic accidents recorded.
Addressing the media in Kwahu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, said the Police Service intensified its operations with the deployment of uniformed personnel and officers from the intelligence unit to maintain law and order during the festive period.
She indicated that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, along with members of the Police Management Board, had been on the ground in Kwahu since Friday, personally supervising operations and engaging communities to ensure a safe environment.
She further revealed that no major road crashes occurred during the period, attributing this success to the deployment of officers from the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) who worked tirelessly to ensure traffic safety and smooth vehicular movement.
The Police Service thanked Ghanaians for their cooperation and assured that efforts will continue to be made to maintain peace and security during all national events.
