A total of 134 road projects are currently ongoing in the President’s home Eastern region, according to the Roads and Highways minister.
A total of 107 poor roads are also been considered to be constructed after all the necessary procedures are reached and awarded.
Mr. Kwasi Amoako Atta in a media encounter in Koforidua indicated that 18 of the aforementioned 134 projects are been undertaken by the Highway Authority, 71 by the Department of feeder roads while the Department of urban roads is also taking care of 41 projects, all at various stages of completion.
Being the home of President Akufo-Addo, the minister assured that the government would ensure it also get its share of the national cake in terms of road infrastructure as this year has been touted as ‘Year of Roads”.
“Our projects are feasible for everyone to see, not like the others who put them in a certain Green book which is not seen on the ground. I will give every one of you a copy so you can trace it to the source to verify for yourself” Mr. Amoako Atta boasted.
Meanwhile, the minister pledged that his outfit would soon fix the Koforidua Magazine-Nkurakan stretch of the road which has been a headache of road users over the past years due to its current poor state.
