As part of the Government efforts to improve Sports infrastructure projects, 22 Astro Turfs and one Youth Resource Center have been Constructed in the Eastern Region so far.
The only Youth resource centre is located at koforidua and some of the Astro Turfs are located at Akropong,Sarkodie School – Koforidua, Effiduase-Koforidua,Akyem Swedru and others.
Speaking at Koforidua during Town Hall Meeting and Exhibition of Projects initiated in the Eastern Region so far, Regional Minister, Honourable Seth Kwame Acheampong said the Government will continue to provide more Youth Resource Centers and called on Ghanaians to vote massively for Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the December 7 General election.
Ministry of Youth and Sports has said these projects were sponsored by Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Jospong Group of Companies, Coastal Development Authority, Ghana Gas, Zongo Development Fund, Members of Parliament, National Youth Authority, Coastal Development Authority, FIFA, Government of Ghana and private Individuals.
It said Completed/Commissioned of Astroturfs stands at 85 and Uncompleted/ Ongoing Astroturf Construction is 28 across the Country.
