The Eastern Regional Chapter of Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNNCI) have been inaugurated in Koforidua.
The National President of GNCCI Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso, in his address, said private commercial enterprises and industries in the region will be provided both technical and financial support services by the chamber to strive to create jobs in the region.
He said the Chamber over the years has undertaken several targeted business support services including capacity building, business advocacy and Policy development, SME Business Clinic, Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, Investment mission, export documentation, business to business maturity, and matchmaking to promote and improve businesses of members as well as ensure conducive operating environment.
Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso said the Chamber has established Credit Union while plans are far advanced to establish Business School to provide both technical and financial support to the commercial and industrial sector.
“We expect that the Koforidua Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry through our activities will provide the needed support and guidance to businesses in the region. This will enable the chamber to achieve its vision of shared growth and prosperity” Nana Dr. Appiagyei Dankawoso stated.
The Board Chairman of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre, MASLOC, Dr. Seth Agyei Baah who is the immediate past President of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the Coronavirus pandemic has unleashed difficulties to businesses but the chamber is committed to supporting the struggling private sector to be resilient through strategic business support services including exposure to business opportunities to flourish.
He said the Chamber of Commerce represents wealth creation and sharing to improve the economy and create jobs therefore urged private Businesses in the Eastern Region to join the Chamber to benefit reap its benefits.
The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GNCCI) is an association of business operators, firms, and industries with interests spanning every sector of private enterprise in Ghana. As an advocacy organization, the GNCC was established with the prime objective of promoting and protecting commercial and industrial interests in the country (Legislative Instrument 611 of 1968).
