The Eastern Regional Coordinating Council convened its annual end-of-year thanksgiving service on Friday at the Koforidua Presbyterian Church Of Ghana Ascension Congregation.
The service brought together departmental heads from various government agencies, security services, institutions in the region, and the Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North, Hon. Comfort Asante.
The gathering aimed to offer praises and thanksgiving to the Lord for the progress of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council and the region as a whole throughout the year.
The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, highlighted the significance of expressing gratitude to the Lord for the achievements of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council and the region.
He expressed optimism for the year ahead, anticipating improvements in roads, infrastructure, a resilient economy, enhanced agriculture, and positive economic indicators for the Eastern region.
Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong further expressed confidence that ongoing projects would be completed by the end of the year, bringing positive outcomes for the residents of the Eastern region.
Rev. Justice Kwame Asumeng, the District Minister and Resident Minister in charge of Koforidua Presbyterian Church Of Ghana, delivered the sermon.
Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Joseph, he encouraged the congregation to endure challenges, emphasizing that perseverance can lead to eventual success.
Rev. Justice Kwame Asumeng further urged participants to exhibit good leadership in their respective roles, emphasizing the crucial role of effective leadership in national development. He stressed that Ghana’s progress is hindered by a lack of good leadership and called for cooperation among leaders and their subordinates.
Rev. Justice Kwame Asumeng appealed to politicians and Ghanaians to ensure a peaceful electoral process, devoid of chaos and insults.
He emphasized that a peaceful election is essential for deepening democracy and electing competent leaders.
As the region looks forward to 2024, the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council remains committed to progress and development, with a focus on completing key projects and fostering a prosperous future for its residents.
