The Eastern Regional House of Chiefs has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of two Ministers of State and six other public servants, describing the incident as a national tragedy that has shaken the entire country.
In a heartfelt message signed by its President, Nene Sakite II, who is also the Konor of Manya Krobo, the House of Chiefs extended its condolences to the President of the Republic, the bereaved families, and the nation at large.
“With deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy, the President Nene Sakite II and Members of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs extend their condolences… following the devastating helicopter crash,” the statement read.
The traditional leaders lamented not only the loss of distinguished sons of the land but also the pain inflicted on their families, colleagues, and the many lives they touched in their service to Ghana.
“This tragedy has left the whole country shaken,” the statement continued. “As traditional leaders, we mourn… the many lives they touched in service to Ghana.”
They also offered prayers for comfort and strength for the grieving families and called for national unity in this difficult moment.
“We pray that the Almighty God will comfort every broken heart… and bring healing to a grieving nation,” it said.
The Eastern Regional House of Chiefs concluded with a solemn tribute to the deceased, hoping that their legacy of service and sacrifice would continue to inspire generations.
“May their souls rest in perfect peace, and may their memory continue to inspire us all,” the statement said.
