Three hundred and two (302) applicants were registered by the New Juaben South Municipal Office of the Electoral Commission at the end of the voter’s registration held Thursday.
Hundreds of applicants who could not complete their voter registration process are however expected to return to the EC office Friday morning to continue the process.
Hundreds of applicants on Thursday queued at New Juaben South office of the Electoral Commission in the Eastern Region to take part in the continuous registration exercise conducted across the country.
The one-day registration exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC) is to afford persons who have recently attained 18 years and those who could not register during the main exercise in June this year to do so.
The majority of the applicants were youth some of whom attained 18 years after the main registration exercise held in June this year.
Some adults, the aged, and some sick persons with clutches were also spotted at the EC office Thursday.
Many of the adult applicants said they were either outside the country, traveled outside the Constituency, or were on sick beds. Few others said were iffy whether or not they will vote in December 7 Presidential election.
As at 6:00pm, 302 applicants had registered while many were still in the queue.
The New Juaben South Municipal Electoral Officer Kofi Asante Owusu told mybrytfmonline.com that the exercise has been peaceful and smooth.
He said applicants who were in the queue before 6:00pm details were taken and provided numbers to return Friday to continue the registration exercise.
New Juaben South Constituency registered a total of about 92,000 during the main exercise but some have been identified to be double registration which has been duplicated.
