Accra, Ghana –
As investigations into the missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers intensify, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communication team in the Eastern Region, Kwadwo Governor, has alleged that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is responsible for the disappearance of the containers.
Speaking on Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney, Kwadwo Governor dismissed the Energy Minister’s explanation of the situation, calling it mere political maneuvering. He insisted that the NDC government orchestrated the theft, labeling them as “elite thieves.”
“These containers were stolen by the current NDC government. The previous NPP administration has nothing to do with this,” he claimed.
His comments come as the ECG container scandal continues to dominate national discussions, with stakeholders demanding accountability. Reports suggest that irregularities in procurement and clearance processes have led to financial losses and supply chain disruptions in the energy sector.
Meanwhile, the National Security Council Secretariat has stepped in, requesting assistance from the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) to evacuate the ECG containers while investigations proceed.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates as they work to unravel the mystery surrounding the missing containers.
