Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the minister of energy, has questioned why vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is held responsible for Ghana’s economic problems.
In an interview with Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Manhyia South representative Matthew Opoku Prempeh said that he always feels sad when Dr Bawumia receives criticism for leading the Economic Management Team.
He asserts that Dr Bawumia is not at fault, stating that the Economic Management Team is the only committee in government that is referred to as a team and that, as a result, the team’s business is not an individual one.
“I get sad when people blame Vice President Bawumia because that’s the only Committee that’s called a team. When you go to Cabinet, we have the Social and Infrastructure Committee and others but when we reached the economy, we say Economic Management Team. So, we appointed experts on the team,” he said.
Additionally, the Minister begged Ghanaians to keep believing that the Akufo-Addo administration can revive the economy.
He pointed out that the NPP is the only political party that when in power, enacts laws that both relieve Ghanaians’ suffering and advance the country.
