Ghana has recorded 1042 confirmed cases of coronavirus with 9 deaths as of April 19, 2020. But Ghana’s President has lifted imposition of restrictions.

The decision to lift the partial lockdown in Kumasi and Accra by the President of Ghana certainly had not been arrived at with ease. It could have been the battle between economic hardship and safety.
Eventually, economic hardship won, but that does not mean we should move around without taking precautions into serious consideration. Unfortunately, however, why the Lord would like to govern people with grace, people always like to be governed with laws. Accordingly, many Ghanaians desire to be governed with laws, not grace which is guided by self-discipline.
I am hoping that Christian leaders, other religious leaders, and all opinion leaders would promote the need for self-discipline at this time in order for us to minimize the spread of the virus. This is like governing with grace.
Christian leaders should take the government directives into serious consideration. They should not endanger their members with secrete programmes. The song writer says, “When we walk with the Lord in the light of His word, what a glory He sheds on our way….”
He continues by saying, “Trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy in the Lord but to trust and obey.” While the Lord sheds glory in the way of those who walk in Him, He expects us to wholeheartedly trust and obey.
It is trusting and obeying that will lead to the glory.
Remember, the government has not banned prayers. Christians need to pray wherever they are.
However, bear in mind that prayer is not magic. Prayer must go with obedience.
Failure to trust and obey even makes one’s prayer nuisance to the Lord (1 Sam. 15:22; Deut 1:45; Isa. 1:15; John 9:31).
