Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum joined a host of other stakeholders at the 47th annual conference of UNESCO which is currently ongoing at the headquarters in Paris.
He again brought to light, the fact that efforts are being made to infuse into the Ghanaian educational curriculum, thematic concerns regarding climate change.
On the occasion, he highlighted the importance of sustainable development and reforms being undertaken to ensure climate change in Ghana.
“This, I believe would expose students to the impact of climatic changes on the environment”.
“I further touched on the invaluable roles teachers, students, and parents are playing to ensure a green environment” he stated.
Dr Osei Adutwum also mentioned the opportunities inherent in the “green economy” agenda.
He added that government’s vision and rationale for STEM education and drew a linkage between literacy and the environment as a means of prioritizing sustainable development.
“Green environment also means green wallet”, I declared. An economy becomes richer and greener if much premium is placed on its environment and climate change” he noted.
