The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum (MP), has endorsed an initiative by the Zongo Development Fund (ZoDF), for the inclusion of Zongo communities in the STEM – IT education policy in Ghana.
The Minister stated that the current policy is aimed at transforming the educational system through a “paradigm shift from the 19th to the 21st century’’ and involves all communities, including the historically marginalized and deprived Zongo communities.
The education minister confirmed the ministry’s readiness to provide technical support for the implementation of the programme through its STEM advisor, who will liaise with the Zongo Development Fund. He narrated several interventions he has spearheaded to upgrade, expand and construct new educational institutions in Zongo communities.
Dr. Arafat Sulemana Abdulai, Chief Executive Officer, ZoDF conveyed the Fund’s gratitude to the education minister for his proactive engagement, recommendations and support.
