Nana Okoawia Jumo Baabu II, Chief of Effiduase in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern region, has urged the New Juaben North Assembly to ensure proper demarcation of its electoral areas in line with traditional boundaries.
Speaking during the 5th Akwasidae celebration in Effiduase, the chief expressed concern that the Effiduase traditional area has lost boundaries to the New Juaben South due to improper electoral area demarcations.
The chief highlighted that traditionally Effiduase areas, such as SSNIT Flat, now fall under the New Juaben South Municipality.
He accused politicians of intentionally altering these boundaries to undermine local chiefs and manipulate traditions for their own interests.
In his address, Nana Okoawia Jumo Baabu II emphasized the need for the assembly to rectify these demarcations to preserve the integrity of traditional areas.
