The Effiduase Chief Palace in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern region has been tastefully furnished with brand new furniture during the celebration of the 5th Akwasidae this year.
The gesture was initiated by the Effiduase Diaspora Association natives of Effiduase now in abroad with membership across different countries.
During a ground durbar at the Effiduase Chief Palace to mark its 5th Akwasidae, the President of the association Kwadwo Asiedu Darkwa together with some members donated about 110 brand new furniture and sets of canopies to the Effiduase traditional authority received by the Chief Nana Okoawia Jumo Baabu II.
The President of Effiduase Diaspora Association Kwadwo Asiedu Darkwa in an interview stated that the Effiduase palace is deprived with many basic things of which furniture is key among such needs, therefore the association decided to support the palace in that regard to enhance the smooth operation of traditional functions and activities.
Nana Kwadwo Asiedu Darkwa said “the chiefs appealed to us about four years ago concerning their needs key among them is the construction of their new palace and lack of furniture at the palace”
“We had an information that the palace lacks furniture during a ground durbar like this , they always rent furniture outside especially during the installation of the Queen mother just recently so as an association we decided to come together to support our own community with the little resources we have”
“This and many other initiatives of the traditional authority of Effiduase that we will be supporting , our next target is to assist in the completion of the new palace being up , we are grateful to the executive committee and all the members of the association”
Even though our membership cuts across many countries , we are still working hard to reach out to those who are not yet part of us to widening our membership scope to help us maximize our resource to help develop the Effiduase community”
On the other hand, the Chief of Effiduase Nana Okoawia Jumo Baabu II hailed Effiduase Diaspora Association for their unrelenting support to the community.
He concluded by inviting all natives of Effiduase in Ghana and in abroad to come to the aid of the community particularly the construction of the new palace.
