The Minority leader in Parliament and lawmaker for the Effutu Constituency Hon Alexander Kwamina Afenyo Markin has supported health workers at the Effutu Health Directorate with Ghc100,000 to enable them fight cholera outbreak which has created fear and panic among residents.
According to report, three(3) persons have been confirmed dead with 29 positive cases being managed.
Former Municipal Chief Executive for the Effutu Municipality Hon Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, who presented the cash on behalf of the MP appealed to residents to consider involving themselves in an upcoming clean up exercise programmed by the health directorate to ensure a smooth eradication of the Cholera menace in Winneba.

Meanwhile, the Director of Health at the Effutu Municipality, Dr Paullet Brown, who received the gesture on behalf of health workers commended the MP for the support and has vowed to use the money for the purpose.
She has, however, advised residents who normally defecate along the coast to desist from the act since it is also one of the causes of the cholera menace.

In a random interview with residents of Effutu, they commended the MP for his continuous support to the health needs of the people in the Municipality.
