Effutu lawmaker Alexander Afenyo-Markin has commissioned five ultra-modern projects for five communities within the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region last Friday.
The projects includes libraries and Community Centers.
Addressing people in all the beneficiary Communities, the Deputy Majority Leader promised to do his best to seek development for the Effutu Municipality.
He promised to ensure every community within the Effutu Municipality benefit from him and the New Patriotic Party government.
Hon. Afenyo-Markin promised that every Community will get it’s share of projects he is distributing in the communities without discrimination and also advised the beneficiary communities to adopt the Culture of maintenance for the projects to last long and also serve the right purpose.
The MP promised to donate laptops to all newly posted Teachers in the Basic Schools from the Effutu Municipality as part of his One Teacher, One Laptop Campaign policy, promised to build an ultra-modern six Unit Classroom block for the Gyahadze Community as their school building is currently not fit for purpose and also took the opportunity to advise parents to allow their wards to benefit and enjoy from the library and the ICT centers.
Afenyo-Markin then advised his constituents to get tested for the Hepartitis B and be vaccinated as he has raised a fund for that.
A Community centre was commissioned and handed over to the Chiefs and people of were Ahwer Nkwanta. Another Community center was handed over to the people of New Winneba. At Kojo Beedu a library and ICT center were commissioned and handover to the Community, while at Woarabeba a Community center was also presented.
At Osbonpanyin, the town also received a Community center while at Gyahadze a library was also handed over.
Sod cuttings were also done to begin construction more Community centers, libraries and offices.
Also, a sod cutting for the construction of an office complex for the Ghana Immigration Service was also done at Nsuekyir as well as one for an ultra modern Hospital was also done at Ahwer Nkwanta(New Winneba) since the largest Tissue Factory in West Africa which is under construction and expected to be commissioned this year is expected to increase human activities.
Most of the projects commissioned and handed over were named after late noble men who played their roles well in their respective communities.
Meanwhile, residents of beneficiary communities applauded Afenyo-Markin for the kind gesture and promised to retain him as their Member of Parliament till he retire from active politics.
Some of the Chiefs also commended the Effutu Member of Parliament for his continues support and promised to be by his side in all his endeavours especially during this year’s election.
