Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Jean Mensa has cautioned the youth not to allow themselves to be used to fuel trouble during, before, and after the December 7 polls.
Mrs Jean Mensa made this comment after the recent chaotic events that occurred at Jamestown in the Odododiodio constituency on Sunday, October 25, 2020.
According to the EC, if the youth avoided themselves from violent activities, this 2020 election will be held with peace and joy.
Last Sunday, some New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress members in the Odododiodio constituency suffered various degrees of injuries after both party’s peace walk turned violent, and we don’t want such an act to happen again.
The EC chair while addressing first-time voters in Accra, lectured that police have so far arrested two persons in connection to the violent clash hence every Ghanaian youth should be wary and say no to violence.
Mrs Jean Mensa urged all Ghanaians youth to behave well and to abstain from such deeds because the law will not escape anyone free.
