It seems education on voting remains a major challenge in Ghana’s democratic process as a huge number of ballot papers are rejected.
A total of 27,000 rejected ballot papers were recorded in the Eastern region while the Volta region also recorded 15,764 in the just ended general elections.
The country has since 1992 recorded several rejected and spoilt ballot papers in our electoral exercise, a situation which is a worry to the Electoral processes.
Civil society organizations as well as other electoral stakeholders have proposed extensive education on how to vote to ensure electorates are well taught on the Electoral processes.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo secured a total of 729,146 votes in the Eastern region with John Dramani Mahama of the NDC securing 454,174 votes.
