After picking up the nomination forms on behalf of John Dramani Mahama to enable him run in the NDC flagbearer elections, former rector of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Professor Joshua Alabi said Ghanaians are currently yearning for the return of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the former president to return to power and save the economy from collapse.
According to Prof. Alabi, Mr. Mahama has the skills necessary to lead and implement policies that put the needs of the people first in order to ease the current economic challenges.
At a meeting with the Minority caucus in Accra on Tuesday, Mr. Mahama announced his decision to run for presidency.
The NDC has declared that all was ready for the nomination period to begin for its presidential and parliamentary candidates in the general elections of 2024.
As a result, starting on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, anybody will be able to purchase nomination forms for parliamentary candidates on the party’s official website, www.ghanandc.com, according to a statement from the main opposition party.
On February 22, after selecting Mr. Mahama’s paperwork, Prof. Alabi said “We are here to pick up the forms for his HE John Dramani Mahama. As you are aware we are in very difficult times in this country, the economy is in shambles, people are suffering and the summary here is that people are crying for the NDC to come back”, he said.
