Actor, politician and businessman Mr. John Dumelo, has expressed confidence in his ability to win the Greater Accra region’s Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary seat in the 2024 general elections.
According to him, he was able to close the vote difference in the 2020 elections and that is now his turn to win the seat in 2024.
The current member of parliament for the area, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, defeated John Dumelo in the 2020 elections to keep her position after a tough contest.
He tweeted that “Thank you all for the congratulatory messages. 2024 is a must-win in Ayawaso West Wuogon. As a parliamentary candidate in 2020, we closed the gap from 10,000 to under 1,900 through hard work. It’s time to take the seat. Let’s all get involved.”
He has picked nomination form to run in the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) parliamentary primary for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
After his initial failed attempt in the 2020 elections, he will be offered another chance to contest in becoming the Member of Parliament for the area if he wins the internal elections of the main opposition party.
