Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, a candidate for general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former president John Dramani Mahama is well-positioned to lead the party into the upcoming general elections in 2024.
He stated that anyone interested in running for the NDC’s flagbearer post is welcome to do so, but he is confident that John Mahama, the NDC’s candidate for president in 2022, will prevail and once again represent the party.
Speaking on TV3’s New Day broadcast with Johnnie Hughes on Wednesday, October 12, he promised that the flagbearer competition would be conducted fairly.
“John Mahama stands tall,” he stressed.
The former Minister of Youth and Sports further indicated that “but one fact we can’t run away from is in 2024 whose records are we going to run on? Is it not John Mahama?”
He further urged the NDC delegates to support him for the position of party’s next general secretary.
He claimed that he possessed the traits and abilities necessary to guarantee the party’s electoral success in 2024.
