The General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party, Mr. John Boadu has stated that the party at the right time will open nomination for a qualified person to apply for the position as presidential candidate for the election 2024.
To him, no person will be imposed on the party to lead the ‘Elephant’ in the 2024 presidential election.
He affirmed that Akufo-Addo can never impose a flagbearer on NPP rubbish claims.
“This is not a party where someone can impose a leader on us. Not at all, nobody can do that. We have a tradition,” he added.
Responding to claims that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is likely to force on the party his preferred candidate to help break the eight-year presidential cycle in 2024.
“The governing party has a tradition of allowing candidates to be elected by the party’s delegates,’’ John Boadu told Neat FM.
“I don’t think President Nana Addo can impose a flagbearer on the party,’’ said John Boadu.
