The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Director of Elections and IT, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) plans to rig the upcoming elections, starting with the special voting on December 2, involving security agencies, journalists, and Electoral Commission (EC) officials.
“The Elephant has planned to rig the election on that day. So, do not assume that special voting cannot be manipulated. Be vigilant with the elephant. The security personnel have decided not to allow any rigging by the NPP, so we must work with them to prevent any such attempts on December 2 and December 7.”
The former Minister of communication said the NDC will do everything possible to protect every single vote cast for the John Mahama and NDC parliamentary candidates.
He urged NDC supporters not ignore the Special Voting but monitor and remain vigilant,by Watching them with eagle eyes.
Addressing party supporters in Otoase in the Ayensuano constituency as he commenced a five-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region, Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has assured supporters that the party will complete the collation of at least 75% of the presidential election results by 11:00 p.m. on December 7.
Dr. Omane Boamah who is a former Minister of communication further advised supporters to document and Video record the declaration of results on December 7 at polling stations, constituency collation centers, and regional capitals.
Dr. Omane Boamah also encouraged supporters of the party to move to the constituency collation centers to continue monitoring the process.
“After declaration of the results as many of you that can should go to the constituency collation centers because no army has been able to defeat a determined people.Go there peacefully to protect your votes.Be courageous ,work with the security agencies.And we have insisted that every one who will be deployed as a security person to workin the election must be wearing the name tag
He also urged supporters of the party to insist that Presiding officers paste the pink sheets at all polling stations across the country as per CI 127.
“the presiding officers must paste the pink sheet at the polling stations this is what CI 127 dictates and because CI 127 dictates this ,we want to ask th Electoral Commission have you distributed 40,600 and over book to all the potential polling stations that elections will be conducted on December 7? If the EC has not declared this and has not procured this glue the EC must procure it because the pink sheets must be pasted and pink sheets will be pasted because we shall ensure the pink sheets are pasted” He stated
Dr. Omane Boamah urge the Electoral Commission to ensure that the necessary materials, including over 40,600 glue sticks for the pink sheets, are provided.
Dr. Omane Boamah made this statement on Monday, November 11, 2024, while addressing party supporters in Otoase in the Ayensuano constituency as he commenced a five-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region.
Dr.Omane Boamah earlier paid courtsey call on Barima Kwasi Nyare III,chief of Otoase who appealed for development in the area including football pitch for the youth, market center and other basic amenities.
He pledged to remain staunch supporter of the NDC despite insult on his personality because the NDC is the only party that bring development to the area when in power.
