Arthur Kennedy, a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), believes Alan Kyerematen would have been an excellent president.
But in his opinion, the former trade minister lacks the will to contend for leadership.
He said that in order for Alan to have the kind of influence he is hoping for in the 2024 elections, he will need to step up his game.
“He hasn’t shown the ruthlessness that he needs to show, and the failure to show that ruthlessness cost him the primaries. The structured, almost behaving like a president in waiting, when he needed to go out there, reach out to people, and go on the attack. On the streets, he has not shown the anger he needs to show.
President Kufour once told Alan that he would make a good president, but he does not know how to fight for power, and it appears that is what we are seeing. Yes, if he woke up and he’s president, he would make a good president, but the campaign he’s running so far has not inspired people the way it was expected to,” he said on OKAY FM.
Arthur Kennedy believed that Alan Kyerematen may force a second round of voting in the 2024 elections if he were to turn things around.
