The People’s National Convention’s (PNC) decision to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in advance of the 2024 elections has not deterred the New Patriotic Party (NPP), according to the party.
At a news conference on Wednesday, November 27, the PNC declared its support for the NDC after the Electoral Commission (EC) disqualified it from the presidential contest for mistakes in its nomination paperwork.
NPP Deputy General Secretary Haruna Mohammed rejected the support in an interview with Citi News on Thursday, saying that the party’s leadership alone made the choice and that it does not represent the opinions of the PNC’s grassroots members.
“Is the leadership that has made their declaration, and we know that the leadership of the PNC has always supported the NDC. Bernard Monarh, we all know that everything about him is NDC.
“So it is up to the other members of the party to decide who they want to vote for and we believe that we’ll be able to speak to their mind, we’ll be able to speak to their questions, we’ll be able to speak to their emotions, and they will get to understand that Ghana, where we are today, needs somebody that can lead the poor industrial revolution,” he stated.Tourism packages
He added “It doesn’t move us. It doesn’t move us so much because I believe that it is not the entire people of PNC. It is the decision of the leadership, and the decision of the leadership is already known.” He said.
