Prior to the December elections, President Nana Akufo-Addo has promised to make sure that any political party or presidential candidate who breaks the law will suffer the proper repercussions.
During the June 10 commissioning of The Law House in Accra, President Akufo-Addo gave a guarantee that his administration would not allow political parties or presidential candidates to break any laws.
He reiterated his commitment to protecting Ghana’s order and rule of law, particularly as the nation gets closer to the elections in December.
In order to guarantee that the goals of any political party or presidential candidate do not jeopardize the peace, security, and stability of the country, Akufo-Addo emphasized that the legislation will be enforced uniformly.
“I want to use the opportunity on this platform to reassure the Ghanaian people that a law enforcement agency of the state, including the office of the Attorney General, will do all within their power to ensure that law and order prevail in the country at all time, especially at this critical election year.”
“We will not allow the peace, security and stability of the nation that makes Ghana a beacon on the African continent, to be compromised on the alter of the ambitions of any political party or presidential candidate. It will not happen,” he said.
