The National Democratic Congress (NDC) aims to secure a minimum of 140 parliamentary seats in the 2024 general elections, according to Joseph Yammin, the party’s National Organizer.
This would enable the party, led by former President John Dramani Mahama, to have a majority in Parliament and guide the country in the desired direction.
Yammin emphasized that while the poor performance of the current government gives the NDC an advantage, the party will not rely solely on the shortcomings of its opposition.
Instead, it plans to use effective strategies to present its vision clearly to Ghanaians and win the elections.
The announcement was made at the “NDC PROFORUM National Youth Commission – Eastern For Mahama” campaign event held at Koforidua-Asokore SDA College of Education.
The NDC PROFORUM is a group of professionals, such as lecturers, lawyers, doctors, teachers, and bankers, who work to promote the party’s vision in selected regions across Ghana.
Benjamin Kwabena Afram, the Deputy National Youth Commissioner of NDC PROFORUM, also spoke at the event.
He highlighted the benefits of joining the NDC PROFORUM for the youth and encouraged them to engage with the group.
Samuel Adongo, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for New Juaben North Constituency, appealed to the youth to join the NDC.
He assured them that the party has policies focused on benefiting Ghanaian youth, which would be implemented if the NDC wins the 2024 general election.
