The New Patriotic Party’s nationwide presidential primary, which took place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, has now come to an end with voting from all 276 constituencies.
Around 204,000 party members were expected to vote and select who to lead the party in the 2024 general election in order to spearhead its attempt to break the eight as heard throughout the year 2023.
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is one of the four contenders running for the NPP flagbearer post.
Kennedy Agyapong (Assin Central), Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto (Former Agriculture Minister) and Francis Addai Nimo (former Member of Parliament for Mampong) are the other candidates summing up the four vieing for the presidential seat for the New Patriotic Part.
All of the contenders have voiced hope for their chances, but Dr Bawumia is considered the front-runner, with Kennedy Agyapong being his closest rival.
