The Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), has changed the closing time for general elections in the country from 5:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The election stakeholders including the Electoral Commission made this verdict after a 2-day review workshop on the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
“As a nation, as a Commission, and as stakeholders, it is important that we recognize the feats we achieved through the 2020 electoral process for the purpose of documenting best practices and experience and to ensure that the successful strategies adopted do not fall through the cracks of inordinate fault-finding and critique,” said the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa.
All the major political parties in Ghana were present during the workshop, but the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was absent.
