Incumbent lawmaker for the New Juaben south constituency Michael Okyere Baafi has retained the seat for the second time in Saturday’s general elections.
The MP secured 32,134 votes as against 23,735 votes of the NDC candidate, Dr Martin Otu Offei and Independent candidate Evans Appiah ho also got 1,306 votes.
Hon Okyere Baafi during the 2020 general elections secured 47,862 votes representing 69.90% while the NDC candidate also pull out 20,164 votes, which represents 29.45%.
The MP on the 2020 elections after defeating the then incumbent MP Dr. Mark Assibey Yeboah during the party’s internal primary.
Despite inning the seat, his performance seems not encouraging as his votes dwindled in this year’s elections.
