The Electoral Commission (EC) has been described as a stubborn institution that does not want to heed to any suggestions nor opinions from its stakeholders.
According to Lawyer Abraham Amaliba, Director of Legal Affairs of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), in an interview on Accra based Dadi 101.1 FM morning show, Efa Woho, was of the view the EC has a secret agenda as earlier explanations from the institution does not add up.
Lawyer Abraham Amaliba also stressed that there is no problem with the current voter’s register and therefore finds it fishy at the posture of the EC on the matter.
Meanwhile, the Leader of United Front Party (UFP), Dr. Agyenim Boateng also speaking to the host, Abena Opokua Ahwenee, added his outfit is also against the introduction of a new register as he sees it as a way to manipulate the 2020 general elections by the ruling party.
He confirmed there will be a demonstration in Tamale on Saturday by opposition parties to protest against the stand of the EC to have a new voters register.
