The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Deputy CEO, Yaw Afriyie, was a panellist at the just-ended Local Content Conference in Takoradi, which availed a platform for deliberations on critical issues affecting the oil and gas industry.
Mr. Afriyie touched on the external and internal challenges confronting Ghana’s upstream sector.
He also encouraged enhanced efforts towards reducing red tape and retooling policy to ensure Ghana’s upstream remains viable and competitive.
This year’s event promoted discussions on preparation towards the energy transition and its implications for local content development; financing the oil and gas value chain to sustain local content development; and the prospects and challenges of AfCFTA on local content development in the upstream oil and gas industry.
