Mr. Debrah Bekoe Isaac, founder of As I Grow (AIG) CEO, is urging Ghanaians to support young women in taking up leadership positions across various sectors in the country.
Citing research conducted by his organization, Mr. Bekoe Isaac emphasized the limited opportunities for women in education, work, and other facets of life, hindering their progression into leadership roles.
Speaking at a mentorship program organized by As I Grow Organization and Maame Koma Foundation on International Women’s Day at the Presbyterian Women’s College of Education in Aburi, Mr. Bekoe Isaac stressed the importance of dispelling misconceptions about women and empowering them to surpass societal stereotypes.
He encouraged young women to focus on self-empowerment in education, health, emotions, security, and finances, asserting that when women lead fulfilled lives, they can contribute significantly to the workforce and nurture healthier communities.
During a campaign to support young teacher trainees at the Presbyterian Women’s College of Education, Mr. Bekoe Isaac emphasized the resilience and leadership potential of women, urging them to cultivate qualities such as self-efficacy, confidence, and competence.
Mr. Bekoe Isaac emphasized the significance of building connections, seeking mentorship, and embracing opportunities for growth. He cautioned against complacency and urged young women to take risks and pursue their aspirations with determination.
Maame Koma Addo, CEO of Maame Koma Foundation, echoed Mr. Bekoe Isaac’s sentiments, urging young women to embrace bravery and creativity in facing challenges. She emphasized the capacity of women to excel as managers and innovators, encouraging them to focus on personal development and relevance in society.
The program, organized in commemoration of International Women’s Day at the Presbyterian Women’s College of Education in Aburi, united students and school leaders in fostering gender equality and empowerment among young women.
