Former Black Stars assistant coach George Boateng has been appointed as the first team coach at English Championship club Coventry City.
Boateng returns to management after spending sometime off following his sacking as the assistant coach of the Black Stars back in February.
The former Dutch international of Ghanaian root will be deputized by Rhys Carr at the club.
Boateng and his assistant are expected to begin preseason training with the club this week ahead of the 2024/25 season.
The former Netherlands star played for Coventry in the 1998/99 season. He managed to score seven goals in 57 games including a famous brace against Aston Villa.
“We are very pleased to welcome George and Rhys to Coventry City,” said manager Mark Robins.
“They both impressed us during the extensive recruitment process for this important role and each brings key skills to the football department.
“Their experience and knowledge will greatly aid our work to maximise the performance and preparation of our team, both in advance of, and on matchdays, and we are excited to begin working with them.”
