An Ex-Convict, Joshua Ativor has been sentenced to 20-year imprisonment for stealing Infinix Hot-6 mobile phone and a charger worth about ¢800.00 by the Asamankese Circuit Court.
Joshua Ativor, 22 year old unemployed pleaded guilty when he was charged for stealing in the Court presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams.
The court also convicted one Kofi Abrokwa, who purchased the stolen Phone from Joshua Ativor at ¢30.00 to three months imprisonment.
The Police are also searching for third suspect, Anthony who also purchased the phone at ¢40.00 from the second accused person and handed it over to his girlfriend.
Prosecution officer, Chief Inspector Adator told the court that the complainant is a Dzamasi Francis, a final year student of St. Thomas Senior High Technical School in Asamankese whilst the first accused person is also a resident of Afransi.
The first accused person stole the phone from a classroom when the complainant was charging it and the accused was arrested upon a tip-off and sent to the Police.
After investigation, the first accused, who is an ex-convict admitted stealing the phone from the classroom and he was sent to court for prosecution.
