The 2023 Ghana Football Association Elective Congress has successfully been held in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale.
Following the expiration of the mandate, the football association needed to elect new leadership to steer affairs for the next four years.
At the end of the election held at the Global Dreams Hotel, the incumbent President of the Ghana FA garnered a resounding 117 votes from 119 to maintain his status as the president of the association.
Okraku went unopposed following the disqualification of George Afriyie.
Shockingly, Medeama board chairman Dr Tony Aubynn was unable to maintain a seat for the Ghana Premier League slot. He was vying for one of the five slots for the 18 Premier League but missed out after failing to receive the needed number of votes.
Meanwhile, the former Ghana coach in his first attempt at the elections pulled 10 votes to win claim one of the Premier League slots.
Randy Abbey, Frederick Acheampong, Nana Oduro Sarfo and Kingsley Osei Bonsu have all maintained their seat to represent Premier League teams.
At the Division One League category, Samuel Anim Addo, who doubles as the manager of former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan was booted out of the Executive Council, falling short in the elections.
Mark Addo, who served as the vice president of the GFA last term maintained his seat after polling the majority of the votes cast.
He will be joined by Eugene Noble Amo Noel and Gideon Ofosu as three representatives for Division One League.
Berry Ladies bankroller Gifty Oware-Mensah also had overwhelming votes to serve on the Executive Council as the representative from the women’s football.
